Dr Barbra Curtis BVSc
What is your role here?
Part-time Associate Veterinarian based at Bradbury
When did you start working at MVG?
What are your qualifications and when did you achieve them?
Bachelor of Veterinary Science Sydney University 1994 graduate. I have special interests in medicine, (especially geriatrics), ophthalmology, and ‘exotics’ i.e pocket pets. I also like to help identify behavioural cases that would benefit from medication, (working in with a good trainer), as I know many animals suffer anxiety disorders much like people, and should have access to relief from this if it sufficiently impacts quality of their life as well as the owners.
What are some of the things you love about the veterinary industry?
I still love to learn and Macarthur Vet Group is dedicated to ongoing Professional Development and it’s very well equipped, which means we can help pets more!
MVG is a great place to work because…
Of the staff! There is such a good range of skills among our vets, and the nurses are so dedicated & hardworking. Good employers mean good staff stay! There’s even time for some fun sometimes, though we’re often busy as our services are in high demand…for good reason! The team work well together.
Description of your pets / spouse / family
I live in the Southern Highlands with my daughter Claudia, who is about to start High School. I am happy to do the commute to be at such a great workplace. I also have an old rescue dog named Monti, as Westie cross, who is completely deaf & needy! A roster is necessary for his care when I’m at work!
One interesting fact about you that no one knows!
I don’t like coffee AT ALL never have…But I LOVE tea!
