Marianna

Veterinary Nurse
What is your role here?
Veterinary Nurse.
When did you start working at MVG?
I began volunteering in February 2018 and was offered a position in July 2018.
What are your qualifications and when did you achieve them?
I completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at TAFE Richmond in December 2018.
What are some of the things you love about the veterinary industry?
I absolutely love working with animals! They are so much fun with truckloads of character. No day is ever the same and I live for that! I am also really passionate about the native critters that come into the clinic, such as lorikeets, blue tongues, wombats, wallabies – and the occasional koala! Working in such a beautiful country filled with such beautiful animals motivates me to come to work every day.
MVG is a great place to work because…
We strive to provide the best possible healthcare to all patients and I am very proud to be a part of that. I am also very lucky to call my co-workers my friends – not everyone can say that.
Description of your pets / spouse / family
My partner and I live in Camden with his beautiful Miniature Schnauzer called Rapha. Raph was only 12 weeks old when my partner and I met and I have loved every minute of watching him grow into the spriteliest little man. When I am not at work, Rapha and I are inseparable. Recently I have been training for The Sydney Marathon and Rapha has been by my side for a lot of my training.
One interesting fact about you that no one knows!
I came to Australia in 2015, after breaking my leg skiing in New Zealand. I was not able to continue my hobby long distance running, so I took up skydiving at Picton instead! I am now a qualified skydiver.
