Telemedicine – Telephone and Video Consults

**Update – With restrictions continuing to ease, we don’t expect to see much future demand for video consults, so are withdrawing this service.  Phone consults will still be available if needed.  It’s always best to see and examine the patients in the clinic where possible, please refer to recent blog – Video Consults Unavailable**

As part of our commitment to the care of our patients, MVG is now offering telemedicine consults, via either video or telephone, to help our clients during the Covid pandemic.

  • Video Consults – can be booked online.  You will receive an email invitation to open the video link at the appointed time
At this stage, available times for video consults will be limited while we determine how popular this option will be.  If you need a different time, please let us know and we’ll see what we can do. If you think you would use this service, please Like our Facebook post
  • Phone Consults – can be booked either online or through our reception.  You just need to be available and one of our vets will phone you at the appointed time. Phone consults can be booked during most consulting times at any of our clinics

Important: Telemedicine is not the ideal option for all consults as it often necessary for us to examine the patient in order to make a diagnosis or dispense certain medications.  We encourage you to consider an in-clinic or “car-park” consultation if your pet needs to be seen directly by the vet.

What does it cost?  At this stage we are charging $62.50 which is less than we would for a normal clinic consult.  Telemedicine consults need to be paid over the phone with credit card.  If we determine that the patient needs to be examined, we will credit you the cost of the telemedicine consult, towards the cost of your in-clinic consultation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
